Mothers Day

We had a packed house for Mothering Sunday. This year we decided to treat the mothers to a little extra. We held a daffodil prize draw. Raffle tickets were attached to the daffodils, mums then picked one to win a prize.

The top prize offered was in conjunction with  B B's  Beauty Box (in Melton town centre),  a £60.00 voucher for treatments was up for grabs. This was won by Mrs Taylor, we hope she enjoys the pampering ! Other prizes included wine, flowers and chocolates. Kim,  James and Zoë supervised  the draw and ensured all the mums played fairly no cheating!

Last week we said goodbye to Maria, one of our housekeepers who started her maternity leave. She was presented with gifts for herself and the new arrival. I am sure she will keep in touch and await news in May !

British Pie Awards & St Georges Day

We are very happy to announce we will be a sponsor of the British Pie Awards on 21st April. The competition being held in Melton will fit in with the towns food heritage and offering.

St Georges day is on Thursday 23rd April- so that week we will be putting on a different homemade pie every night and also be doing a special menu on the Thursday. The menu on Thursday is designed as the traditional / popular foods. It is a well priced menu so we are hoping to get people booked who will enter into the spirit of St Georges day. Download the menu for a look.

Last week proved to be a very busy week.

On Tuesday I went to the British Travel Trade Fair at the NEC as part of the Melton Promotions team. We made contact with a wide range of group travel operators. I really enjoyed talking to lots of different people from all of the country promoting both Melton and the hotel. We are hoping for an increased level of day and overnight visitors in Melton in the autumn and next year as a result of the show.

A few sunny days meant Richard was outside 'scarifing'  the lawns ready for the spring when it arrives !

Room 16's bathroom refit was finally finished by Gavin and Alan. The room is back in action.

The 'Speedy Sale' auction event meant the hotel was busy Wednesday to Friday with people from all over country visiting to buy up ex hire plant and machinery. Gavin disappeared up there for the entire Friday luckily coming back empty handed- a boys day out I think!
